General

Getting started and what to expect

Is the compressor really free?

Yes, completely free with no limit on the number of compressions. No subscriptions, no premium plans, no trial. The service is supported by discrete advertising. If you prefer to refuse personalization cookies, you still have access to everything.

Do I need to create an account?

No. Zero signup, zero login, zero email. You land on the page, drop the file, download the result. Every interaction is anonymous.

Can I use it commercially?

Yes. The images you upload remain yours — we don't claim any rights and we don't redistribute them. Just confirm you have permission to convert the original files.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes, optimized for iPhone, Android, iPad and any tablet. Tap the upload area, pick the file, choose the format, download.

Privacy and security

What happens to your files

Are my files stored?

Converted files stay temporarily on the server so you can download them, and are automatically deleted after 60 minutes. The originals are processed in memory and discarded immediately after conversion.

Are files seen by humans?

No. Never. No staff accesses files, no content logs, no automated moderation systems.

Are EXIF metadata preserved?

By default, EXIF metadata is removed for privacy — things like GPS location, camera model, dates. The ICC color profile is preserved to maintain visual fidelity.

Where are the servers?

Servers in the European Union. Subject to GDPR and European data protection law.

Formats and quality

Technical compression details

Which formats can I compress?

We support 15+ formats: JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF, ICO, AVIF, HEIC, PDF, SVG, PSD, TGA, PCX, XPM, DDS. See the full formats page.

Is WebP better than JPEG?

For modern web, yes — WebP compresses 25-35% better than JPEG with equivalent visual quality, and supports transparency. For maximum compatibility (email, old Office, legacy software), JPEG is still the safer choice.

How do I compress iPhone HEIC images?

Drop the HEIC file, adjust the quality slider, and download the compressed result. Or use the dedicated HEIC page.

Do conversions add a watermark?

No. Converted images are clean — no watermarks, no overlay text, no artificial quality reduction.

Technical limits

What the system allows

What's the max file size?

Each file can be up to 50 MB. For high-resolution RAW or TIFF images we can evaluate higher limits case by case.

Can I compress multiple files at once?

Yes. Drag several at once or paste multiple from clipboard. There's a 30 compressions per hour limit per IP to ensure availability.

How long does each compression take?

Average ~70 milliseconds per file for normal images. Very large files may take a few seconds.

Didn't find your answer?

Just try it directly — it's probably faster than reading more.
